- 1/4 lb. bacon, finely diced
- 2 qt. boiling water
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 c. each diced carrots, celery and onion
- 4 c. diced potatoes
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 (7 1/2 oz.) cans clams
- strained clam juice
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. water (optional)
Directions

1Fry bacon until golden but not brown.

2Add water.

3Simmer 5 minutes.

4Add salt and vegetables, except potatoes.

5Simmer 20 minutes.

6Add potatoes, soup and pepper.

7Simmer 20 minutes.

8Add clams and juice.

9Cook 10 minutes.

10If desired, thicken with flour and water paste.
