Classic Lasagne

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 c. chopped onions
- 2 Tbsp. salad or olive oil
- 1 pt. tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 small can tomato sauce
- 1 c. water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1 lb. Ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
- 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz. lasagne noodles (approximately)
Directions

1In a heavy pan, lightly brown beef and onion in oil.

2Add tomatoes (put through blender or cut with edge of spoon), paste, sauce, water, salt, garlic powder, pepper and oregano.

3Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.

4Meanwhile, cook lasagne as directed; drain.

5In 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan, spread about a cupful of sauce, then alternate layers of noodles, sauce, Ricotta, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, ending with sauce, Mozzarella and Parmesan.

6Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes until lightly browned and bubbling.

7Allow to stand for 15 minutes; cut in squares to serve.
