Classic Saffron Rice

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Minced Onion
  • 1 cup Long Grain White Rice
  • 1 pinch Saffron, Crumbled
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt

Directions

    Put butter and minced onion in a heavy quart saucepan. Saute over medium heat until onion is translucent. Add rice, saffron, water and salt. Bring to a rolling boil. Cover, reduce heat to simmer, cook rice until tender and liquid is absorbed (about 16 minutes).
