Ingredients

  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 to 5 c. flour
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Heat milk lukewarm.

    Add sugar, salt and shortening to milk.

    Add 1 cup flour and eggs; beat mixture well.

    Add yeast mixture and stir well.

    Add 3 cups flour and knead until dough doesn't stick to hands.

    Place in greased bowl and let rise to top of bowl.

    Form rolls and let rise to double size.

    Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Grease top of rolls while still hot.
