  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. shelled raw peanuts
  • 1 tsp. maple or vanilla flavoring

Directions

    Preheat oven to 250°.

    Put sugar, water, flavoring and peanuts in medium saucepan.

    Boil over medium heat about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until most of the syrup is sticking to the peanuts.

    Spread thinly on lightly greased cookie sheet and cook in oven 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes.

    Cook until peanuts taste barely done.
