Cocoa Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. margarine or butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 c. nuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 c. chocolate bits
  • 2 apples, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions

    Beat together eggs, sugar, margarine and water until fluffy. Sift flour, cocoa, soda, cinnamon and allspice.

    Add to creamed mixture and mix well.

    Fold in nuts, apples and vanilla until evenly distributed.

    Spoon into greased and floured 10-inch loose bottom pan.

    Bake at 325° for 60 to 70 minutes until cake tests done.

    May use Bundt pan also.

    Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of cake.
