  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 12 cup butter or 12 cup margarine
  • 12 cup molasses
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

    In a large bowl, whisk together the boiling water, butter, molasses and sugar.

    Let cool and then whisk in beaten eggs.

    Sift together the self-rising flour, baking soda, unsweetened cocoa and cinnamon.

    Whisk flour mixture into the molasses mixture and whisk until smooth.

    Pour batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square pan.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
