- 1 cup boiling water
- 12 cup butter or 12 cup margarine
- 12 cup molasses
- 12 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 14 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions

1In a large bowl, whisk together the boiling water, butter, molasses and sugar.

2Let cool and then whisk in beaten eggs.

3Sift together the self-rising flour, baking soda, unsweetened cocoa and cinnamon.

4Whisk flour mixture into the molasses mixture and whisk until smooth.

5Pour batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square pan.

6Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
