  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. butter or shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. nutmeats

Directions

    Cream sugar and butter.

    Add eggs and beat.

    Add salt, cocoa and vanilla.

    Add flour; beat until smooth and then fold in nuts. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan for 30 minutes at 325°.

    While warm, spread with powdered sugar or these may be frosted when cool.
