  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. margarine (room temperature)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. nuts (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

    Grease 16 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

    Start oven 10 minutes before baking; set at 350°.

    Sift flour, measure, re-sift 3 times with cocoa and sugar.

    In a large mixing bowl, add butter, eggs and vanilla.

    Blend in flour mixture.

    Beat 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir in nuts.

    Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until barely done.
