  • 2 sticks margarine or butter
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa (not hot chocolate mix)
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • frosting

Directions

    In a large saucepan, bring margarine, cocoa and water to a boil.

    Add sugar, flour, cinnamon and eggs, blending thoroughly. Add buttermilk, soda and vanilla.

    Blend.

    Pour batter (it will be thin) into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 400° for 30 minutes or until cake tests done.

    While still warm, frost.
