- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
- 2 egg whites
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Combine cocoa, sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan.

2Add milk slowly, stirring well.

3Cook and stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil and is thickened.

4Stir in egg yolks, one at a time.

5Cook, stirring constantly, about 3 minutes or longer. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.

6Cool slightly, then pour into a baked pie shell.
