  • 1 3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped pistachio nuts or walnuts
  • 1 c. heavy cream
