- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco or 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. Crisco
- 5 eggs
- 1 tsp. coconut extract
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. coconut extract
Directions

1Boil sugar and water for 1 minute; add flavoring.

2Pour over cake while still in pan.

3Let stand for 1/2 hour (sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top to keep it from sticking to plate).

4Turn out on plate and immediately turn back on another plate so it will cool right side up.
