- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. coconut flavoring
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening together; add sugar and beat well. Add eggs beating after each one.

2Sift flour with baking powder and salt.

3Add flour mixture alternately with milk to creamed mixture; mix well.

4Add coconut flavoring; beat well.

5Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.

6After cake cools, remove from pan; mix 1/2 glass of milk with 1 tablespoon sugar.

7Mix well and pour over cake (pierce holes in cake so milk mixture can soak into cake).
