- 3 c. sifted cake flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. (1/2 lb.) butter
- 1 lb. powdered sugar
- 4 egg yolks, well beaten
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. shredded coconut, packed lightly
- 4 egg whites, well beaten
Directions

1Sift flour once, then measure.

2Add baking powder and salt. Sift three times.

3Cream butter thoroughly and add sugar gradually.

4Continue creaming until light and fluffy.

5Add egg yolks and beat well.

6Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition.

7Stir in vanilla and coconut.

8Fold in egg whites carefully.

9Bake in greased eight-inch pans at 350° for about 30 minutes or until done.
