- 3 egg yolks
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1 c. grated coconut
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 9-inch baked pie shell
Directions

1Beat egg yolks.

2Beat in sugar, salt, cornstarch and butter gradually.

3Pour in milk and blend.

4Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until thick.

5Add coconut and cool.

6Add flavoring and nutmeg and pour into shell.

7Cover with meringue and bake 15 to 20 minutes in 300° oven.
