- 3 c. milk
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. shredded coconut
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c.sugar
- 3 Tbsp. oleo or butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix the flour and cornstarch with 1/3 cup of the cold milk to a thin, smooth paste.

2Then scald the remaining milk.

3Beat the egg yolks.

4Add the sugar and salt.

5Add a small amount of the scalded milk to the flour paste and some to the egg and sugar mixture. Pour each mixture slowly into the scalded milk, stir together to prevent lumping and cook until thick.

6Remove from fire, add the butter and vanilla.

7Put 1 cup coconut in it.

8Pour into a 9 1/2-inch baked pie shell.

9Cover with meringue and brown.
