  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. fresh coconut
  • 1 1/2 tsp. coconut flavoring

    Mix all ingredients.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Immediately after removing from oven, pour 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water and 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring that has been boiled for 1 minute while cake is still in the oven.
