Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • sifted powdered sugar

Directions

    Combine all ingredients except powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl.

    Beat at medium speed of an electric mixer 2 minutes. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

    (Cookies should still be white when done.)

    Remove cookies from cookie sheets. Cool on wire racks.

    Dust with powdered sugar. Store in airtight containers.

    Yields about 4 dozen.

    Pecan or cherry for center is optional.
