- 1 12 cups shredded salt cod fish
- 1 12 cups hot water
- 2 cups hot mashed potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons minced onions
- 12 teaspoon allspice
- 12 cup flour
- oil or shortening (for frying)
- tomato sauce
- Coleslaw
Directions

1Soak the codfish in hot water for 3 mins.

2drain and with hands squeeze as dry as possible.

3(codfish will expand when wet, but after squeezing it packs back into about 1 1/2 cups.

4In a bowl mix together the codfish and potatoes, butter, onion, and spice.

5Blend well.

6with hands shape into 1 and 1/2 inch bowls.

7roll balls in flour .

8heat oil or shortening to temp of 375 degrees .

9Fry for 1-2 mins or until balls are golden brown all over.

10drain on paper towels and serve with tomato sauce and coleslaw.
