- 1 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 3 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 6 large eggs
- 3 c. cake flour, sifted
Directions

1In a large bowl, combine butter and cream cheese and mix well. Slowly add sugar and mix well.

2Stir in salt and vanilla. Beating well after each addition, add eggs one at a time.

3Add cake flour.

4Beat well.

5Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

6Place in cold oven.

7Turn oven temperature to 275° and bake cake until tester inserted in center comes out clean, about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

8It may be necessary to bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes, depending on oven.

9Cool on a wire cooling rack in pan 15 to 20 minutes.
