- 4 c. (heaping) yellow squash, cut in halves for easy stirring and partially peeled
- 1 onion
- 1/2 to 3/4 stick butter or margarine
- 1 slice lemon
- 1/4 c. or a bit more flour
- lemon juice (healthy splash to taste)
- white pepper
- salt
- 6 c. chicken broth (2 cans Swanson or 2 c. chicken consomme made with cubes)
Directions

1Saute onion in butter.

2Stir in squash and seeded lemon slice. Sprinkle with flour.

3Cook 3 minutes over low heat, stirring, until all lumps are batter-floury.
