- 1 large loaf French bread
- 1 1/2 sticks margarine or butter
- 2 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 small grated onion
- 1 tsp. poppy seed
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 garlic bud, mashed
- shredded Swiss or Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Trim crust on top and sides of bread; don't trim bottom.

2Cut X's in the bread without cutting into the bottom (XXXXX).

3Fill the X's with shredded Swiss or Cheddar.

4Place bread in foil boat. Melt margarine on low heat.

5Add mustard, onion, poppy seed, lemon juice and garlic.

6Pour over bread.

7Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
