- 6 slices bacon (lean)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 medium head fresh cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1 small finely chopped apple
Directions

1In a large skillet, brown bacon until crisp.

2Drain off fat and wrap bacon in paper towel.

3Set aside.

4Saute onion in butter or bacon fat.

5Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste.

6Add 2 tablespoons water.

7Shred the cabbage and add 2 tablespoons vinegar; add to the rest of ingredients in skillet except bacon. Steam all until cabbage is tender.
