  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. shortening, melted
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Pour melted shortening over sugar.

    Add eggs; sift dry ingredients and mix well.

    Add chocolate chips and vanilla. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or when toothpick comes out clean.
