- 2/3 c. shortening
- 1 (1 lb.) box brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 3/4 c. plain flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. nuts
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.

2Preheat oven to 350°. Cream shortening and sugar.

3Add eggs one at a time; beat well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

4Add to creamed mixture.

5Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.

6Spread in pan.

7Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

8Let cool in pan.

9Cut into squares.
