- 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 3 eggs
- 1 pkg. chocolate bits (6 oz.)
Directions

1Mix flour, baking powder and salt.

2Melt shortening.

3Add brown sugar.

4Mix well.

5Allow to cool slightly.

6Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.

7Add dry ingredients, then nuts and bits. Pour into greased pan.

8Cook at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

9Cool. Slice.
