Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pkg. chocolate bits (6 oz.)

Directions

    Mix flour, baking powder and salt.

    Melt shortening.

    Add brown sugar.

    Mix well.

    Allow to cool slightly.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.

    Add dry ingredients, then nuts and bits. Pour into greased pan.

    Cook at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Cool. Slice.
