- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 3 eggs
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1 pkg. (7 oz.) chocolate chips
- 1 c. nut meats (black walnuts)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

2Melt shortening; add sugar.

3Stir and let cool slightly.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.

5Add dry ingredients.

6Add water, then nuts and chocolate chips.

7Pour into a 16 1/2 x 10-inch greased pan; spread evenly.

8Bake at 350° for about 25 minutes.

9Cut into finger length bars an inch wide, when slightly cooled.
