- 3/4 c. shortening or oleo
- 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. broken nuts
- 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Directions

1Melt the shortening in a large saucepan.

2Add brown sugar and mix well; cool slightly.

3Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

5Add the flour mixture to the mixture in the saucepan; mix well.

6Add broken nuts and chocolate morsels.

7Pour into 2 greased pans (7 1/2 x 11 x 1 1/2).

8Bake at 325° to 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

9When almost cool, cut into squares.
