- 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. nut meats (if desired)
- 1 pkg. chocolate chips
Directions

1Mix and sift dry ingredients.

2Melt shortening and add brown sugar.

3Stir until well blended.

4Cool slightly.

5Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.

6Add dry ingredients, nut meats and chocolate chips.

7Pour into a greased 10 x 15-inch pan.

8Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

9Cut in squares when cool.
