Ingredients
- 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 1/4 c. brown sugar (1 lb. bag)
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. nuts
- 2 small or 1 large pkg. chocolate chips
Directions

1Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.

2Melt shortening and add brown sugar.

3Stir until well mixed.

4Allow to cool slightly.

5Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

6Add dry ingredients, then nuts and chocolate chips. Pour into greased pan about 9 x 13 x 2-inch.

7Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

8Cut into 2 x 2-inch squares when almost cool. Yields 48 squares.
