  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. broken nuts
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips

Directions

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Melt shortening and stir in brown sugar. Allow to cool slightly. Beat in eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each. Add flour mixture, nuts and chocolate chips. Blend well. Pour into greased pan, 9 x 12. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. When almost cool, cut into squares.
