- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- additional sugar
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl, cream the shortening and 1 cup sugar. Beat in

2the egg and molasses.

3Combine flour, baking soda, ginger and cinnamon.

4Roll teaspoon of dough into balls.

5Dip one side of each ball into sugar.

6Place with sugar side up on a greased cookie sheet.

7Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
