Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. lard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • milk
  • 4 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 3 lb. sliced apples
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. tapioca (this is not a duplicate, you need it)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour (level Tbsp.)
  • cinnamon
  • butter or margarine
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Mix flour, lard and salt.

    Mix like a pie crust.

    Put egg yolks in a measuring cup.

    Add enough milk to make 3/4 cup.

    Add to flour mixture to make a soft dough.

    Divide dough into 2 parts. Spray cookie sheet with Pam.

    Roll one part and fit in the bottom of cookie sheet.

    Put dough on all sides.

    Sprinkle 4 tablespoons tapioca on top of the dough.

    Add the sliced apples on top of the dough.
