Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Mix together flour and sugar.

    Cook in saucepan the water, cocoa, oleo and shortening until it boils.

    After mixture boils, add it to flour and sugar and blend thoroughly.

    Add eggs, salt, buttermilk, soda, vanilla and nuts.

    Mix well.

    Pour into greased and floured cookie sheet.

    Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350°.
