- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 6 ounces 70% bittersweet chocolate, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
- Pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract or dark rum
Directions

1Combine the milk, sugar, and corn syrup in a small saucepan.

2Stir well to mix, then place the pan over low heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.

3Remove from the heat, stir in the chocolate, and whisk smooth.

4Whisk in the salt and vanilla.

5Pour the sauce into a bowl and cool it to room temperature, stirring occasionally.

6Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and keep the sauce at room temperature if you are serving it on the day it is made.
