- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. warmed buttermilk
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 egg
- 1 c. thawed frozen corn
- 1/2 c. finely chopped sweet green pepper
- 1 Tbsp. green chilies, chopped
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease 9-inch round baking pan. Combine flour, meal, sugar, powder, soda and salt in large bowl. Mix buttermilk, margarine and egg.

3Stir milk mixture into flour mixture until combined.

4Fold in pepper and chilies. Put batter into greased pan.

5Bake 40 to 45 minutes.

6Cool on rack for 15 minutes.
