- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour *
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil or shortening
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 eggs
Directions

1Heat oven to 450°.

2Grease round pan, 9 x 1 1/2-inches, square pan, 8 x 8 x 2-inches or 10-inch ovenproof skillet.

3Mix all ingredients.

4Beat vigorously 30 seconds.

5Pour into pan.

6Bake round or square pan 25 to 30 minutes, skillet about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

7Serve warm.
