  • 1 1/2 c. corn meal
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Sift together flour and cornmeal.

    Cream together sugar, salt, butter and eggs.

    Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add soda with last portion of the buttermilk.

    Bake at 350° in a greased 13 x 9-inch pan until golden brown.
