- 1 c. plain flour
- 1 c. cornmeal (coarse)
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. salad oil or bacon drippings
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Combine flour, meal, baking powder and salt.

2Add egg, oil and milk; beat well.

3Grease 8 or 9-inch pan with bacon drippings. Grease pan well.

4Heat pan in 450° oven until hot.

5Pour batter in and bake 20 to 25 minutes.

6Serves 6 to 8.
