  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
  • 1 tsp. sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil

Directions

    Beat eggs well.

    Stir in milk. Stir in corn meal, sugar and salt. Bake in preheated 450° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Cut into squares and serve hot with butter or margarine.
