Ingredients

  • 2 cans corn (creamed and Niblets)
  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 3 small potatoes
  • 1 handful barley
  • milk (until desired consistency) or half and half
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 1/2 Tbsp. crushed garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder (not salt)
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar

    Brown bacon.

    Cook potatoes and barley separately.

    Add everything else and bring to a boil.

    Only need about 30 minutes after everything is added to cook.

    If you use milk, add cornstarch to thicken.

    If you use half and half, you probably won't need it thickened.

    Serves 4 to 5.
