- 1/4 lb. salt pork, diced
- 3 medium onions, chopped
- 3 or 4 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 c. water
- 4 c. corn, cut from cob
- 1 qt. milk
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Fry pork until almost crisp; add onions and cook until golden brown.

2This gives a definite tang to the chowder.

3Add potatoes and water; simmer 5 minutes.

4Add corn and cook 5 minutes more, or until tender.

5Stir in milk, salt and pepper.

6Heat slowly

7until chowder is piping hot.

8Makes 6 to 8 servings.

9Cool chowder before serving if there's time; reheating improves it.
