- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 2 c. potatoes, pared and diced
- 2 1/2 c. water, divided
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 (16 oz.) cans whole kernel corn or 2 c. cooked fresh corn
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. flour
- paprika
Directions

1Cook bacon until crisp.

2Remove bacon and set aside.

3Saute onions in bacon fat until soft.

4Add potatoes, 2 cups water, salt and pepper.

5Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until tender.

6Stir in corn with liquid and milk.

7Blend flour with remaining 1/2 cup water until smooth, then stir into chowder.

8Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until it thickens and heats thoroughly.

9Serve sprinkled with bacon and paprika.

10Serve 4 to 6.
