- 4 hot dogs
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup milk
- 6 tablespoons cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg
- 4 wooden skewers
Directions

1Preheat oil to 375 degrees in a deep fryer.

2Combine flour, salt, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, egg, and milk in a medium bowl. Mix well.

3Place the cornmeal mixture into a tall, skinny glass/cup.

4Cut hot dogs in half and roll in flour.

5Cut the skewers in half and skewer each hot dog.

6Dip each hot dog into the cornmeal mixture and allow the excess to drip off.

7Twirl the corn dog in the hot oil for about 5-10 seconds.

8You can now let go of the corn dog and let cook for about 10 minutes, until it is a dark, golden brown on each side.

9I was able to cook 4 corn dogs at a time.

10Drain corn dogs on a paper towel and serve.
