Corn Pasta Bolognese

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 rashers bacon, chopped
  • 500g lean beef mince Safeway 1 lb For $5.99 thru 02/09
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1/3 cup port
  • 60g field mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 packet Country Harvest Corn pasta (Gluten, Wheat, Egg free)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup KRAFT* Grated Parmesan Cheese

Directions

    Heat oil in a pan, saute the onion, garlic and bacon for 3-5 minutes.

    Add minced beef, cook over medium heat, until well browned.

    Stir in the water, salsa, port, mushrooms, tomato paste and basil.

    Stir until well combined and simmer gently for 12-15 minutes or until cooked.

    Place water, and pinch of salt into a saucepan, bring to the boil.

    Place pasta into the saucepan and cook until al dente.

    Drain the pasta, top with sauce and cheese.

    Serve.
