Corn Salad

Ingredients

  • 5 c. (rounding full) fresh corn
  • 2 c. diced celery
  • 3 c. shredded cabbage
  • 4 large onions, diced
  • 1 large can pimiento or 1 partly sweet red pepper
  • 3 c. white sugar
  • 1 3/4 c. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. ground mustard or 1 Tbsp. table mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 3/4 Tbsp. turmeric

Directions

    Put all ingredients together in a large kettle.

    Mix well. Heat just to boiling.

    Do not boil because the corn will shrivel. Stir real good and, when hot, put in heated jars and lids and seal.
