Corn Tomato Chowder

- 2 oz. salt pork
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 1/2 c. (No. 2 can) corn
- 2 c. potatoes, diced
- 1 1/2 c. tomatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- dash of pepper
- 1 qt. boiling water
- 1 c. evaporated milk
Directions

1Cut pork into small pieces and fry slowly to a golden brown in a large saucepan.

2Add onion and cook slowly without browning for 5 minutes.

3Add corn, potatoes and tomatoes in alternate layers. Sprinkle with salt, sugar and pepper.

4Then add water and cook slowly until potatoes are tender.

5Remove from heat and stir milk in slowly.
