- 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1/2 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. melted fat or oil
- 1/4 c. sugar (optional)
Directions

1Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt (and optional sugar).

2Mix together milk and egg and add fat.

3Add milk mixture to cornmeal mixture.

4Stir only enough to mix.

5Fill greased baking pan half full.

6Bake at 425° for about 25 minutes or until lightly browned.

7Makes 6 servings.
