Cornbread Dressing

  • 3 1/2 c. cornbread crumbs*
  • 3 1/2 c. white bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. sage
  • 1 qt. turkey/chicken broth (more liquid may be added if moist dressing is desired)

Directions

    Mix bread crumbs in a large bowl.

    Saute celery in butter until tender, yet crisp.
  3. 3
    Mix the egg into the milk until it is well beaten.

    Add all the ingredients to the bread crumbs and mix well.

    Bake in a shallow greased pan at 400° for 30 to 45 minutes or until mixture is as dry as you like it. It will dry a little after removed from the oven.
